DEFINITION:The Director facilitates institutional research and assessment activities to support the College’s institutional effectiveness processes, reporting requirements, and accreditation standards; provides institutional data and reports as required by the NC Community College System, and addresses the data and planning needs of the College.SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:Receives general supervision from the Vice President, Academic Affairs/Accreditation LiaisonExercises direct supervision of Institutional Researcher & Accreditation AssistantESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:Essential Functions:Assist with facilitating the College’s institutional effectiveness processes, including curriculum program reviews, strategic planning, planning retreats, and planning unit assessment cyclesAssist with the regular assessment of the College’s program learning outcomes and general education competenciesConduct institutional research for the purposes of satisfying internal and external data reporting requirementsServe as the College’s IPEDS keyholderServe as the College’s data coordinator for the NCCC System OfficeEnsure the accuracy and validity of all externally and internally reported College dataManage internal data and research requestsTrain faculty and staff on compliance needs of the college including but not limited to SACSCOC accreditation requirementsOther Important Functions:Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of the College’s IE and planning processesAddress the data needs of other units within the CollegeProvide support to the SACSCOC Liaison in addressing the Commission’s reporting and documentation requirementsMaintain up-to-date and accurate IEP pages on the College’s websiteLead the College’s data coordinating team to support the accuracy, validity, and replicability of internal datasets and research projectsPrepare effective presentations and reports for internal and external audiencesCompose, distribute, collect, and analyze surveys on behalf of the CollegePerform other related duties and responsibilities as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:Ability To:Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of workInterpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulationsMaintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:Making observationsReading and writingCommunicating with othersOperating assigned equipmentHandling varied tasks simultaneouslyMaintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:Standing or sitting for extended periods of timeOperating assigned equipmentHandling varied tasks simultaneouslyBending, stooping, climbing, or lifting up to 50 poundsMaintain mental capacity, which allows the capability of:Making sound decisionsResponding to questionsDemonstrating intellectual capabilitiesEXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES:Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:Minimum Education/Training/Experience:Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to extract and analyze data will be consideredFamiliarity with SACSCOC accreditation requirements or similar accrediting agency requirementsExperience with reporting procedures and requirements for higher educationAdvanced skills and experience in using applications such as Ellucian Informer, MS Excel, SAS, SPOL, Compliance Assist; SPSS, etc. for IE and reporting purposesExperience in designing and deploying survey instruments for the collection of quantitative and qualitative data.SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS:This position REQUIRES UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS AND/OR TRAINING CERTIFICATIONS be submitted in addition to the application.
