Key job responsibilitiesAs a Principal Product Manager - Tech, you will lead new, large product initiatives to define the long-term strategy and vision to meet emerging customer needs. You will handle complex product development and business management scenarios, proactively identifying gaps/opportunities to then develop a suite of products to solve the problems.
Define a data-driven product vision, develop business cases, requirements, and prioritize competing opportunities.Work directly with engineering to build exceptional products.Partner with other teams across Amazon Product and Tech to identify and influence development of new products and services.Understand customer (external and internal) needs, define clear project plans and execute to high expectations in a fast-paced environment.Interact with stakeholders at multiple levels and in multiple locations, working with business, operations, tech and BI teams to define and deliver solutions.Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and make tradeoffs to balance business needs versus technical or operational constraints.Collaborate with global stakeholders in other regions to define requirements that support international use cases.Define user stories and product requirements; while contributing to the technical design of new product features.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BS or BA in computer science, engineering, math, finance, or economics- 8+ years of product management experience- Understanding of large and complex technical architectures- Ability to scope and collaborate on customer requirements- Ability to independently solve complex problems through research and analysis- Ability to communicate effectively, and establish credibility with technical and non-technical stakeholders including executive staff- Experience in developing and managing business requirement documents and roadmaps- Knowledge of Six Sigma and iterative methodologiesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with conceptualizing complex interrelated applications and technical platforms, as well as the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members and business partners- Entrepreneurial and inventive spirit, with track record of delivering results in fast-moving environments- Strong relationships building skills; experience managing stakeholders and partners to drive cross functional programs- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with different functional groups, developers, business owners, and senior business leaders- Experience in Agile/SCRUM enterprise-scale software developmentAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market.
