Requirements
Bachelors in Finance or a business-related field
5+ years of budgeting/finance reporting experience
Ability to prepare financial statements or reports, record and analyze financial transactions, manage spend plans, and track expenditures
Strong Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
Responsibilities
Evaluating budget proposals and funding requests.
Collaborating with project managers to develop a budget.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to provide valuable insights into business performance.
Conducting cost-benefit analyses to determine value.
Approving or rejecting funding requests.
Determining whether budget proposals are in compliance with regulations.
Defending budget recommendations against management.
Developing a final budgetary agreement with management.
Monitoring spending to ensure it remains within budget.
Estimating and forecasting future financial needs.
Assisting with financial modeling, cash flow projections, and commitment plan award payments projections.
Preparing quarterly briefs and PowerPoint slides for external stakeholders: cash and fund balances, statement of activities, statements of financial position, budget vs actual performance, actual funds committed, and outstanding award obligations.
Preparing monthly reports for management on actual funds committed, fund and cash balances, and outstanding award obligations.
Updating multi-year cash flow projection.
Monitoring daily cash position.
