1Position Summary:Incumbent provides routine informatics support for EPIC and Ancillary Departmental Systems. Additionally, provides support for the hardware and software environments necessary to ensure effective operations and gives guidance relative to new applications and technology.Salary Range:Hourly RateMinimum:

$56.75Required Qualifications:Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekendsWorking knowledge of wireless network configurations and limitations related to a clinical environmentSome knowledge of open source operating systems such as LinuxStrong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with internal and/or external customersUnderstanding of DNS, DHCP, WINSMust carry a pager/phone and provide on-call support for IT related issuesThorough understanding of Microsoft Active DirectoryWorking knowledge of Thin client and other terminal related technologiesPrior experience supporting and configuring bio medical device interfacing to documentation systemsAbility to independently problem solve Desktop issuesPrior experience supporting clinical end users in a rapidly changing environmentKnowledge of operating system internals, file systems, functions of hardware components, and how hardware and software components work together to form a computer systemBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience4+ years desktop support experience in a networked business environmentAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in EnglishExtensive experience with Windows XP/Vista/7/10Experience with Device Integration middleware such as Capsule, DeviceConX and CernerGeneral knowledge of Phone devicesKnowledge of TCP/IP protocolsExperience using Microsoft Office ApplicationsPreferred Qualifications:Experience working with Epic EMR and its various modulesPrior experience supporting end users in the Clinical environmentPrior experience supporting Biomedical Device IntegrationBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or other healthcare related field with course work in systems analysis and developmentConditions of Employment:The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
