Job Description
Title: Flow Cytometry ScientistDuration: 12 Months (Possibility of Extension)Location: San Jose, CAJob Responsibilities:
Help all people live healthy lives by bringing innovative tools to research and clinical laboratories in basic research, drug discovery and development, biopharmaceutical production, and disease management.Ensure that our cell analysis products deliver outstanding performance and exceed our customers’ expectations by contributing to a cross-disciplinary product development team as a Systems Verification and Validation Scientist II.Participate in the definition, design, and execution of SVV activities throughout all phases of the product development process for cellular analysis systems.Conduct experiments using flow cytometry and apply strong knowledge in scientific principles, immunology, sample manipulation, and/or immunoassays.Lead projects or initiatives, including the generation of project plans and development of test strategies.Exercise influence across functions and contribute to cross-functional problem solving.Qualifications
Qualifications:Typically requires a minimum of a
Bachelor’s Degree in Immunology, Cell Biology, or Clinical Laboratory Science with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience or a combination of equivalent education and experience.Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting flow cytometry analyzers and/or sorters.Experience designing and optimizing multi-parameter flow cytometry applications.Experience researching and applying scientific principles to create new or optimize existing laboratory procedures.Experience performing statistical analysis and interpreting experimental results.Ability to apply creative problem-solving skills to novel or complex applications.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with others in a multi-disciplinary team.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Demonstrated success leading projects, with the ability to meet technical objectives.Experience handling and processing infectious blood samples in a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory.MS degree in Immunology, Cell Biology, or a related scientific discipline is preferred.Additional Information
