Veritas Management Group (VMG) has an opening for a Worship Leader who is responsible for singing while playing an instrument in a Contemporary Protestant service. The Worship Leader will perform the following tasks:Duties and Responsibilities
Singing and playing an instrument (standard 88-key piano/keyboard and/or standard six-string guitar) in a Contemporary Protestant service.Provides appropriate musical support during the Designated Worship Service, Rehearsals, and Special Services.Performs with other vocalists and instrumentalists and arranges music.Coordinates musical selections with the respective Chapel Pastor(s) and vocalist(s), assisting arrangement of music with vocalist(s) as required.Plans and coordinates all musical selections with the Chapel Pastor of the congregation or his/her designated representative to select music in keeping with the theme of the worship service, event, or ceremony. These selections shall fit the desired length and the order of the service as designated by the Chapel Pastor.The Worship Leader will make the music selection in conjunction with the Chapel Pastor in time to be added to the presentation software for the services as needed.Coordinates with the Chapel Pastors in order to balance the worship sound with a multigenerational congregation so that all worshippers are engaged and included in the worship experience.Coordinates with the Chapel Pastor and other musicians, choirs, and/or worship teams to adjust tempo and style of accompaniment to enhance the congregation's ability to participate in worship through the singing of hymns, choruses, and spiritual songs.Must be able to play most hymns/worship/praise songs in the accepted service hymnal(s) and in keeping with the latest Contemporary Christian music selection while maintaining appropriate tempo, note accuracy, and rhythm.Directs and accompanies soloists, ensembles, or choirs with minimal rehearsal.Leads worship through singing and playing of an instrument for the designated worship services including accompanying singing of hymns, choruses; playing preludes (beginning 10 minutes prior to designated start time), offertory, and background for meditation/prayers, and postlude (extending up to five (5) minutes after conclusion of service, as needed) that enhances the atmosphere of worship for the particular congregation.Provides direction and musical accompaniment for a weekly service rehearsal or as required by Chapel Pastor, assisting choir and/or worship team rehearsals.Supports the choir/worship team to learn the music necessary to lead the congregation in the worship and special services.Performs special services on a specified Sunday, rehearsals and special programs (e.g., Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.) as required.Possesses general knowledge of how the sound system works and can troubleshoot non-working equipment as needed.Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.Education and/or Experience
Must be able to sight read praise songs and hymnals and lead the congregation in singing.Must have a minimum of three years of experience rendering the required services.Start Date:
