Project Manager, Site Superintendent, Project Engineer (high-end residential construction)
LOCATION: San Francisco, CA (office in North Beach) - Our job sites are across the Bay area, and we welcome candidates for most positions from any location where they can reach the Bay area.

PMs work with the design team during design development. Being an effective listener and communicator is essential! Your empathy helps you recognize what matters most to our customer and their designer. The PMs provide overall management of the disciplines of budget and schedule and quality of the project. They are able to develop a project from preconstruction through project startup, construction and final completion. They work with their on-site crews throughout the project, while ensuring the highest level of quality.
SITE SUPERINTENDENTOur Site Superintendents are passionate, solution-oriented leaders who thrive on unique building challenges that range from design ambiguities, material storage to neighbor relations. They are problem solvers who have the ability to professionally drive schedules and crews, while maintaining respect, safety and achieving the highest possible quality. This role is best served with positive, humble leaders who demonstrate precise communication and a willingness to go above and beyond, ensuring that the design intent and project goals are met. Their days are spent supervising, collaborating, scheduling and mentoring. Computer skills are valuable in this role – MS Excel and MS Project.
PROJECT ENGINEEROur Project Engineers (PEs) are problem solvers! Since the PEs are so involved in all aspects of the project, they often spend most of their time on the construction site. PEs are often the technical liaison between the client, our Project Manager, the architect and subcontractors to ensure a construction project proceeds safely, accurately and smoothly. PEs help tradespeople interpret the job's designs and design intent, ensure the job is constructed according to the project plans, and assist project controls, including budgeting, scheduling, and planning.
ATTRIBUTES/CAPABILITIES:Candidates for all roles should be forward thinking, creative, organized and self-directed. We are seeking proven leaders with prior experience in residential construction, managing employees and subcontractors, interacting with homeowners and working in a team environment – while meeting deadlines!
All relevant education and training is appreciated; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.Demonstrated experience in general construction, with emphasis on high-end residential or boutique projects preferred.Complete understanding of residential construction procedures including general shell, interior and exterior finishes, and the ability to thoroughly understand architectural, structural, landscape, mechanical and electrical drawings.Although these are “bags-off” roles, strong knowledge of carpentry with complex projects is valued.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to read and understand construction documents, schedules, and cost reports.Ability to convey details and information through hand drawing/sketching.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.Experience with BlueBeam or other PDF based markup software.Process oriented.
