1Position Summary:Under the general direction of the Manager for EHS & Emergency Management, the EHS Supervisor applies professional knowledge and expertise in day-to-day management of occupational safety programs supporting UCI Health locations. Responsible for developing, managing, maintaining and (as needed) implementing the Illness and Injury Prevention Program (IIPP). Programs overseen include Cal/OSHA required programs such as respiratory protection, indoor environmental quality (IEQ), office safety and ergonomics, safe patient handling, fall prevention, confined space safety, driver safety, hearing conservation, heat illness prevention, and blood borne pathogen protection. Assess injury root causes in collaboration with employee health case managers, consultants/physicians, and operational leaders; track and provide reports demonstrating program effectiveness and risk reduction; work with material management to facilitate the timely purchase and distribution of appropriate equipment; and collaborate with the design and construction management team to modify current workspaces and plan new workspaces. $169,700.00Required Qualifications:Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside of the organizationKnowledge of and experience using computer software (databases, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and word processing)Must be available for on-call assignments or alternate work schedules including nights and weekendsMust possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned dutiesKnowledge of principles of occupational health, safety and environmental protectionCurrent State of California Driver's LicenseThorough knowledge/understanding of specific EH&S fields including related laws and regulations; and general knowledge/understanding of all EH&S fields4-7 years of professional experience within EH&S; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceBachelor’s Degree or higher in Public Health, Occupational Safety & Health, Safety Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, Allied Health, or related scientific field and/or equivalent training and experienceAbility to wear personal protective equipment, including a respirator and full coveralls.
