Placement on the adjunct faculty salary schedule is based upon education and credited experience. Pending any course assignment, initial placement can range as follows: Lab Course - $84.55 up to $124.11 per hour. Lecture Course - $98.44 up to $143.19.Who We Are

The College seeks part-time faculty to teach a variety of health and wellness courses. The ideal candidate will share the College’s commitment to educating a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population.The Wellness Department seeks candidates with expertise and experience in the multidisciplinary fields of integrative/complementary and alternative medicine (CAM)/holistic therapies, health, wellness, and well-being disciplines.This position is a “pool” position meaning that openings may or may not be currently available. Your application for this position will be kept current for a period of two years.Duties and Responsibilities

Teach classes as assigned from the regular curriculumAssist in curriculum assessment, revisions, and new course developmentConsult with students during regularly scheduled office hoursMaintain expertise in current teaching methodologies and curriculaPerform other professional duties as required by contract and general institutional needsMinimum Qualifications

Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience OR any associate degree and six years of professional experience OR the equivalent.Two years of recent full-time or part-time equivalent experience teaching at the community college and/or college-level.Demonstrated cultural competence and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Two years of recent experience teaching in wellness, CAM/holistic/integrative therapies, and/or sciences at the college level.Current knowledge and experience in the fields of health, wellness, and integrative/complementary and alternative medicine.Preferred Qualifications

Professional experience in delivering integrative health modalities including naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, or osteopathic medicine.Recent community college or lower division teaching experience.Experience and expertise in culturally-responsive teaching.Faculty Benefits
