The Colleges seek a part-time faculty member in Accounting. This position is a “pool” position meaning that openings may or may not be currently available. The ideal candidate will share the Colleges’ commitment to educating a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population.Duties and Responsibilities
Teach college-level income tax preparation coursesConsult with students during regularly scheduled office and lab hoursMaintain expertise in current teaching methodologies and curriculaPerform other professional duties as required by contract and general institutional needsMinimum Qualifications
• Possession of a Master’s or above in accounting or business administration with accounting concentration from an accredited institution OR Bachelor’s in business with accounting emphasis AND Master’s in business, business education, economics, taxation, or finance OR Bachelor’s in accounting or business administration with CPA license OR the equivalent.• Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Recent successful experience in teaching or preparing to teach college level courses in income taxUnderstanding of and commitment to the role and purpose of community collegeKnowledge of the use of technology in teachingAbility to use and develop teaching methods that emphasize cooperation and collaborationAbility to organize and explain materials in ways appropriate to students with different abilitiesSensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college studentsFaculty Benefits
