Assistant Teaching Professor to join our team! UCCS offers a diverse and inclusive learning environment that fosters innovation, growth, and the holistic development of its students.This is a full-time, 9-month, on-campus, non-tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Teaching Professor level with 80% teaching and 20% service work distribution in the Department of Nursing. This position is expected to teach 24 credit hours per academic year and includes responsibilities in the undergraduate programs; advise students; and conduct classroom, clinical, and online teaching.Essential FunctionsProvide instruction to undergraduate students in the classroom, simulation learning center, online, and clinical settings.Engage in various service activities within the department, college, UCCS, the profession of nursing, and the community.Maintain clinical and academic expertise.Select and schedule student learning experiences to achieve desired learning outcomes.Plan, develop, and implement evaluation tools to assess student progress.Participate in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.Participate in meetings and other activities that advance the mission and goals of the department and college.Other duties as determined by the Dean and Department Chair.Minimum QualificationsMaster of Science in Nursing from a program with national accreditation.Active, unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado, or ability to obtain by date of hire.Two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent, professional nursing clinical experience related to public health nursing.Preferred QualificationsPrevious teaching experience in undergraduate nursing program or adult learning environments.Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and students with a wide range of skill levels.Ability to use collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instruction.Previous experience with curriculum development and evaluation.Previous experience with conducting online teaching.UCCS is an equal-opportunity employer.
