Seeking Hematologist with Bone Marrow Transplant Fellowship Training
Hospital and Health Center is seeking a hematologist trained in both autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplants. This physician will join two board-certified hematologists that completed transplant fellowships at the Leukemia and Bone Marrow Transplant Program at Vancouver General Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who would like to work in an expanding hematology practice and bone marrow transplant program.The city has twelve hematologists and/or oncologists. South Dakota’s only bone marrow transplant center is located here. The program is FACT accredited for autologous and allogeneic transplants and approved as a National Marrow Donor Program transplant and apheresis center. The program performs approximately 45 transplants per year that comprise autologous transplants and full and non-myleoablative allogeneic transplants. Both physicians participate in National Cancer Institute and commercial clinical trials.This practice is located in the Cancer Institute, a state-of-the-art facility that opened in November 2010 with 270,000 square feet dedicated to clinical space and supportive services. The Cancer Institute is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. It achieved the Outstanding Achievement Award in 2010 for exceeding the accreditation standards.
