Vice Chancellor for Inclusive Excellence and Belonging
The University of Massachusetts Boston is seeking a Vice Chancellor for Inclusive Excellence and Belonging. This is a time of unprecedented growth and transformational change for the university, which is committed to developing strategies, programs, and practices to advance its commitment to inclusive excellence and belonging.The Vice Chancellor plays a crucial role within the Chancellor’s Cabinet, contributing directly to the planning of strategic and operational goals for the University. Serving as the Chief Diversity Officer, they will collaborate with Cabinet peers to foster a culture of inclusive excellence and support the implementation of DEI Best Practices.Responsibilities:Develop and implement strategies to advance the University's commitment to inclusive excellence and belonging.Collaborate with Cabinet members to achieve annual strategic goals.Represent the university with various constituencies regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion.Manage budgets and navigate politically charged situations.Leverage data and metrics to inform decision-making and measure progress.Minimum Requirements:Advanced degree from an accredited university, preferably a PhD in a relevant discipline.At least 7 years of experience as a senior leader or executive in higher education.Experience developing and administering diversity, equity, and inclusion policies and programs.Strong project management, organizational, and planning skills.Superior communication skills and emotional intelligence.Nominations and applications are welcomed as soon as possible.
