A law firm in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking an Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney. The attorney will be responsible for handling various aspects of litigation, including case investigation, pre-trial discovery, depositions, motion practice, alternative dispute resolution, hearings, and trials. While experience in handling insurance defense matters is preferred, candidates with proficiency in litigation in other substantive legal areas, such as family law or criminal law, are also encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate should be organized, capable of managing deadlines, and possess excellent academic credentials, along with strong writing, analytical, leadership, and communication skills.Duties:
Manage all facets of litigation, including case investigation, pre-trial discovery, depositions, motion practice, alternative dispute resolution, hearings, and trialsRepresent clients in insurance defense matters, advocating for their interestsConduct legal research and analysis to support case strategyDraft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filingsCommunicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counselManage deadlines and prioritize tasks efficientlyRequirements:
2+ years of law firm or equivalent experienceProficiency in litigation, preferably in insurance defenseExcellent academic credentialsStrong writing, analytical, leadership, and communication skillsOrganized and capable of managing deadlines effectivelyEducation & Certifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
