We are seeking a skilled and motivated Controller to manage our financial operations and ensure the integrity and effectiveness of our financial practices.

Position Overview:

The Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role is critical in ensuring that financial practices align with our organizational goals and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit financial management and grant administration.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.

Monitor financial performance, provide insights, and recommend actions to enhance financial health.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Develop and manage annual budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and grant requirements.

Conduct financial forecasting and variance analysis to support strategic planning.

Grant Management:

Oversee grant financial management, including tracking expenditures, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions.

Coordinate with grant officers and other stakeholders to address financial reporting requirements and resolve issues.

Accounting and Internal Controls:

Manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.

Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Audit and Compliance:

Prepare for and coordinate external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor requests.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Provide training and support to staff on financial procedures and best practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

CPA Required

Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with a strong background in non-profit accounting and grant administration.

Proven experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and non-profit financial practices.

Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
