Our client is a dedicated non-profit organization based in Pasadena, CA, committed to making a positive impact in our community through various programs and initiatives for the homeless community. We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Controller to join our team and oversee our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with all financial regulations.Responsibilities

Financial Management:

Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger.Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and presentation to the executive team and board of directors.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads.Monitor and report on budget performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.Prepare financial forecasts and analyze variances to support strategic decision-making.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, and non-profit financial management standards.Oversee audits, tax filings, and other regulatory reporting requirements.Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.

Financial Analysis and Strategy:

Conduct financial analysis to support program planning and evaluation.Provide financial insights and recommendations to support the organization's strategic goals.Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor the accounting staff, fostering a culture of professional growth and development.Collaborate with program managers and other departments to support financial literacy and accountability.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the non-profit sector.Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit financial management practices.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.Commitment to the mission and values.Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 a year#GHJSS
