If you have already applied there is no need to reapply.What you will be doing:This position provides supervision and guidance to the Statewide Accounting Services team. It is responsible for developing policy and administrative rules, advising on tax compliance issues, implementing new governmental accounting standards, and producing the statewide Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).Our organization, mission, and culture:The mission of the Division of Finance is to provide accounting, payroll, and travel services for the State of Alaska. An active Certified Public Accountant license and at least three (3) years of professional experience in government accounting. Experience working in an enterprise-wide accounting system such as: CGI, SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.Substitution:The following may substitute in lieu of an active Certified Public Accountant licensure:Certification as a Certified Government Finance Manager (CGFM) by the Association of Government Accountants;Certification as a Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) by the Government Finance Officers Association;Or,A Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and at least one (1) additional year of professional experience in government accounting which includes experience working in an enterprise-wide accounting system such as: CGI, SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle, etc.Special Note:The position in this job class is in the partially exempt service in accordance with AS 39.25.130. The partially exempt service is established by statute and is subject to the state's classification and pay plan. Positions are exempt from the usual recruitment process and serve at the discretion of the appointing authority. This position is not covered by the terms of a collective bargaining agreement.Additional Required Information
