Our roles primarily reside inside or around one of our Tech Hubs (Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs, Denver, Austin, Silicon Valley, Washington DC/N. Virginia). Some roles can work virtual full-time if they are not near a Tech Hub, but that is dependent upon the needs of the position and amount of collaboration required.

Job SummaryWe are building a novel mobile broadband solution that converges the latest in 5G technology with a world class cable network and operation. This Executive Director will oversee two areas, Radio Access Network (RAN) and Operations Support System (OSS).

Job DescriptionResponsibilities:RAN related activities include radio network technology development, architecture, design, post-implementation acceptance, ongoing optimization, and tier 3 radio related trouble resolution support. Heavy emphasis will be placed on RAN analytics and automation to support both rapid large-scale deployment of small cells, as well as lower cost RAN optimization and trouble resolution.OSS related activities include architecture, design, integration and support. OSS scope is E2E including inventory management, EMS, alarm correlation, data lakes, and APIs to third party and internal tools. OSS solutions include third party and in-house developed solutions running on the cloud in a DevOps environment. Tight coupling and efficient interfaces are required between the OSS lead and various functional leads (5G SA core, platform, transport, etc.)

Required SkillsDemonstrated strong people leader and team builder.Deep knowledge of 5G radio network technology and industry, spectrum and network planning, and radio network design.Demonstrated expertise in radio network performance optimization using advanced analytics and automation.Experience using and developing OSS requirements and solutions in a mobile operator environment.Pragmatic problem solver.

Required Experience15 years in mobile broadband radio network architecture, design, and performance optimization.Building and leading engineering teams focused on RAN.Developing data analytics solutions for automated RAN processes.

Core Responsibilities for an Executive DirectorProvides oversight and vision for the initial development and architecture of designs for future products and applications that best support the Company's technology and engineering roadmap.Collaborates with other departments and leadership team to define Company's engineering roadmap.Evaluates and adjusts strategies and logistics to meet changing markets and competitive conditions. Directs the monitoring and evaluation of competitor products and applications. Conducts in-depth analysis of competitors' services and prepares recommendations for future products and applications.Analyzes and evaluates changes in technology and defines current and future departmental objectives. Leverages relationships with industry partners to keep current with technological developments within the industry, develops new standards, monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products.Provides business, marketing and product management units with consultation on latest technological trends and developments and their potential bottom-line impact. Ensures the continuous improvement of processes and standards.Oversees compilation of reports, manages and tracks department and project budgets. Utilizes key financial and operational metrics to measure effectiveness of research and development initiatives.Approves policies and operating procedures and establishes schedules of product releases and project time tables.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
