Reporting to the Dean of Students on administrative and clinical issues and to the Dean of Faculty on educational issues connected with the academic curriculum, the Medical Director directs and maintains high-quality medical and surgical care, health advocacy, health education, and psychosocial support to Choate students on a 24-hour per day, 7-day per week basis when school or summer programs are in session, arranging back-up coverage as appropriate. Medical responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient medical care at the Pratt Health Center, performing minor surgical procedures, overseeing the care of students admitted to hospitals or referred to other health care providers, and providing health education and psychosocial support to students during the course of their treatment.Requirements

Graduate of an approved medical school and licensed to practice medicine in the State of Connecticut.Pediatric/adolescent medicine training and experience preferred, gynecology and sports medicine skills, as well as interest in the emotional health of adolescents.National Board Certification/Eligibility.This is a full-time position that will be performed on site in CT.
