We are seeking a high energy, creative General Manager for a weekly newspaper located in central Illinois. The publication has approximately 3,000 paid circulation and a shopper with expanded market coverage to almost 12,000 homes.The ideal candidate will have newspaper management sales and management experience along with a vision for how to adapt to the fast-changing media environment and the energy and initiative to make that happen. The successful candidate must be an assertive marketer, committed to driving revenue and improving existing products while developing new ones. He or she will be expected to be active in the life and leadership of the community.The General Manager will plan, organize, coordinate, and direct all operating activities at the newspaper. He or she will be responsible for achieving the newspaper’s financial goals and objectives and will also need to handle key advertising accounts in the region that the publication serves.This position offers a very competitive salary and benefits package including mileage reimbursement, health benefits plan, and 401k.
