Open Until FilledJob Summary:The University of Utah Health seeks a Director of Advancement for the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine. The Director will be responsible for soliciting private philanthropic support through major and principal gifts to benefit U of U Health’s strategic priorities. Reporting to the Senior Executive Director of Advancement, the Director will manage a national portfolio of donors and prospects to deepen their engagement with Utah Health.Responsibilities:Establish vision and priorities for short- and long-term fundraising goals.Engage with SFESOM alumni, faculty, and administrators to build philanthropic support.Develop and implement a major gift fundraising program.Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects.Prepare leadership proposals and solicitations for major gift prospects.Manage and staff volunteer advisory boards.Support donor relations and prospect research.Travel quarterly to secure philanthropic support from alumni.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, Public Relations, English, or a related field, or equivalency. Five years experience in fundraising, marketing, sales, or public relations which includes two years of budgeting and supervisory experience.Preferences:Commitment to the mission of University of Utah Health and ability to establish meaningful relationships with donors.Special Instructions Summary:This position may require a criminal background check and/or drug screen.The University of Utah is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer.
