NoJob Summary:University of Utah Health seeks a dynamic, collaborative fundraising professional to serve as the Senior Director of Advancement (SDOA) and seek philanthropic support for the identified priorities of the College of Pharmacy (COP). This essential and highly visible position will manage relationships with a portfolio of donors with the capacity to make major to principal gifts in the six and seven-figure gift range. The SDOA will build philanthropic support by engaging and involving all University of Utah Health alumni, faculty, administrators, foundations, corporations, and government agencies. The SDOA will articulate and execute an annual advancement work plan focused on best practices, including goals, metrics, and philanthropic priorities, leading to the procurement of private support for the COP.This position will report directly to the Senior Executive Director of Advancement (SEDOA) for University of Utah Health Academics Advancement and secondarily report to the Dean of the COP.Responsibilities:Plan and implement major gift fundraising to support areas of emphasis as assigned by the SEDOA and the Dean of the COP.Identify, cultivate, solicit, negotiate, and steward major gift prospects, primarily nursing alumni.Submit an annual advancement work plan and budget, including goals, objectives, strategies, anticipated travel, fundraising metrics, and performance management goals.Recruit, hire, train, and mentor the Alumni Relations team member.Direct and lead specific fundraising strategies, ensuring accountability for the team’s fundraising metrics.Evaluate performance of direct reports; help manage and evaluate indirect reports.Identify high-capacity University of Utah Health alumni and prospects in an assigned geographical region.Build a strong relationship with the Dean and COP faculty and staff leaders.Attend and participate in administrative and faculty meetings within the College of Pharmacy.Partner with the University Advancement, the Alumni Relations team, and other relevant teams to create a robust advancement program.Prepare written proposals and stewardship materials for prospects and donors.Monitor gift accounts to ensure they are executed in accordance with donors’ gift agreements.Seek appropriate training opportunities and partner with the director of legacy giving.Submit regular reports to the SEDOA, Dean, and other institutional leaders as required.Complete other duties assigned by the SEDOA or Dean.Conditions of Employment:Must live within a commutable distance of the Salt Lake City metro area.Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel.Must be able to travel regionally and nationally, including overnight trips.Must be able to work evening and weekend hours, sometimes on short notice.Minimum Qualifications:Master’s Degree or equivalent experience (One year of education is equivalent to two years of experience).
