The Strategic Client Manager Lead is at the forefront of our HSB Client Engagement strategy. This role is directly responsible for the profitable growth and servicing needs of HSB’s top-tier reinsured clients and prospects in our fast-growing specialty niche business. Act as a go-to thought leader for the client by developing solid long-term relationships vertically and horizontally across the highest levels for the organization’s assigned client companies which will lead to strategic partnerships. Understand the value of HSB products, pricing, service and solutions, as well as competitive offerings and articulate HSB benefits in a manner meaningful to our customer.
The Client Manager Lead will consultatively bring HSB’s unique solutions for commercial and personal lines (coverages and services) to the Executive and Management teams of the primary insurance companies within their assigned client book. Strategically lead the different client teams to bring value to each client we service that assists them in achieving theirstrategic priorities, goals, and direction.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s Degree is required or equivalent work experience
MBA is preferred
Actuarial exams is highly desirable
10+ years of proven industry experience in Reinsurance:
7-10+ years performing as a Sr Client Manager or experience with C-suite level industry leaders preferably in super-regionals or national P&C carriers
Combination of underwriting, actuarial, operations, and/or sales experience
Experience advising leadership team and setting strategy
Demonstrated success in planning for and achieving profitable incremental results
This position requires travel, which can include overnight travel, as much as 30-40%
Knowledge and Skills:
Exceptional analytical skills in Underwriting and business analytics, adept at synthesizing complex data to inform strategic decisions.
Proven strategic thinking skills and experience in influencing vertical presidents and thought leaders, crafting bespoke solutions for specific verticals/groups, while adeptly negotiating with C-Suite leaders for overarching national carrier group outcomes.
Embodies leadership and possesses a keen strategic mindset.
Strong Client management & Project management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to think out new solutions (“outside of the box”)
Strong willingness and ambition to drive change for our clients; ability to challenge authority and speak up.
Strong stakeholder management capabilities: good interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills for interactions with management and operational team.
A self-starter and independent learner who takes the initiative to challenge the status quo.
