DescriptionTotal Wine & More is looking for an Accountant to join our Accounting team

Bethesda, MD . You will work closely with our Accounting and Treasury Manager performing various tasks to support accounts payable, cashbook and general ledger functions. Internally, your title will be Sr. Specialist, Accounting Control. You will report to the Manager, Accounting and Treasury.You will:Support the accounts payable function by processing and maintaining third-party vendor records and compiling and issuing vendor payment reports.Support the treasury management function by assisting with daily cash flow and credit borrowing projections.Support the accounting function by assisting with Chart of Accounts management.Perform cashbook related tasks including bank interfaces, cash reconciliations, preparing outstanding reports, researching variances; and performing any fraud-protection actions.Perform month-end and year-end general ledger close tasks including preparing journal entries, performing general ledger account reconciliations, and assisting in year-end financial statement audits.Prepare journal entries for gift card, adjustments and month-end accruals.Perform account reconciliation and Ad Hoc reporting.You will come with:A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance1+ year of experience in accounting or financeProficiency in Microsoft ExcelAbility to learn quickly and work independentlyStrong attention to detailUnderstanding of US GAAP and financial reporting is a plusExperience with Lawson accounting system is a plusGood organizational and communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsWe offer:Paid Time Off (PTO)Generous store discountsHealth care plans (medical, prescription, dental, vision)401(k), HSA, FSA, Pre-tax commuter benefitsDisability & life insurance coveragePaid parental leavePet insuranceCritical illness and accident insuranceDiscounted home and auto insuranceCollege tuition assistanceCareer development & product trainingConsumer classes& More!Grow with us:Total Wine & More is the country's largest independent retailer of fine wine, beer and spirits, and we continue to grow our footprint year over year.
