The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of this position either with or without reasonable accommodations.Job SummaryThe Financial Analyst II is a support position responsible for development and production of financial analysis reports, budget documents, and ensures transactions, systems and procedures comply with regulations, accounting principles and standards. Applies in-depth knowledge typically obtained through education along with internal experience to explain findings. Prepares worksheets used to gather and track budget data. Performs calculations in support of budget development. Analyzes and provides technical assistance in preparing budgets and analysis.Essential FunctionsParticipates in the preparation and justification of the Authority’s budgetMaintains continuing contact with cross-functional stakeholders across the Authority to assess the impact of budgetary and financing issuesMonitors real-time performance against budget, identifying and analyzing variationsEvaluates budgets, analyzing revenues and expensesPerforms financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics trackingReviews and analyzes trends and forecasts to recommend actions for optimizationAnalyzes financial data and provides assistance in creating financial models for decision supportReports on financial performance and prepares for regular leadership reviewsAnalyzes past results, performs variance analysis, identifies trends, and makes recommendations for improvementsWorks closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reportingPerforms research and analyzes financial data to recommend quality improvements to current processesDevelops ad hoc and special reports summarizing project status/results, presentations to functional management and provides recommendations impacting business decisionsThe essential duties listed are not intended to limit specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position.
