The Senior Corporate Counsel will report to the General Counsel and will partner with and provide strategic advice on complex legal and business matters. The Senior Corporate Counsel will be an in-house generalist with outstanding business development, risk management, outside counsel management, contract negotiation and problem-solving skills, excellent business acumen, a track record of success, and outstanding interpersonal skills.Role Responsibilities:

Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to the business and functional teamsPartner with the business team on strategic and tactical priorities of our businesses, balancing the need for practical legal/business solutionsClearly and succinctly articulate and provide legal advice on complex legal and business matters to both executive and working level colleaguesProactively identify and solve complex problems thinking beyond existing solutions and frameworksDevelop and maintain a strong knowledge of the products and business prioritiesAdvise on regulatory issues with a focus on monitoring and improving controls, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulationsIdentify proactive solutions that will mitigate, manage or eliminate Donaldson’s global legal risksConduct corporate training on various legal topicsKeep updated on, monitor, review and resolve day-to-day legal, regulatory and compliance issues as they ariseDetermine need for, select, manage and evaluate outside counselMinimum Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.)Licensed attorney in the state of Minnesota (or ability to obtain a Minnesota license)10+ years of legal experienceGeneral corporate experienceExperience with selecting, managing and evaluating, and retaining outside counselPreferred Qualifications:

Experience at a Global organizationCombination of in-house and outside counsel experienceExperience with financing, corporate and commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and distributionAbility to quickly understand business objectives, identify related issues, and facilitate a risk/benefit analysisDemonstrated experience thinking strategically to solve legal challengesProven negotiation experience as well as verbal and written communication skillsExcellent business judgment and problem-solving skillsAbility to collaborate work as a global team member, supporting the overall priorities of the companyAbility to prioritize and make decisions with a focus on execution and resultsStrong interpersonal skills and superior time management skillsDemonstrated ability to provide practical and strategic legal advice to management teamHighly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlinesTechnical background and knowledgeSpanish language skillsKey Words:
