Job Description

NOTE: This position is a hybrid role in Seattle, WA. You must be willing to work in office at the Nordstrom Seattle HQ a minimum of 3 days/week in order to be considered for this position.

This role is responsible for leading the enterprise (JWN) capital planning and reporting process managing the investment governance process, and continuously partnering with business finance & operations teams on project-related decision support. They also support the quarterly board of directors and earnings reporting cycle including leadership reporting and competitor analysis.

The ideal candidate is results-oriented, possesses excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, and is committed to continuously providing outstanding business partner support. They have a love of data and process as well as helping business partners solve complex problems.

A day in the life…

Lead JWN capital and depreciation planning and reporting processes, including month-end close, forecast updates, annual budget, and long-term planningManage enterprise-wide investment governance and ensure compliance across business finance and operations teamsOwn preparation of materials for key leadership meetings including monthly investment committee reviews and quarterly board meetingsEvaluate and enhance existing reporting, models & processes to continuously improve efficiency and enhance insights with business finance & operations teams, including Stores, Technology, Supply Chain & AccountingSupport ad hoc requests including, but not limited to, investment business cases, asset impairment testing, policy reviews, and other Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis projectsBuild & maintain capital expertise, especially as it relates to the retail industry, best practices, and potential impacts on JWNAssist in developing a rotational financial analyst and intern on a project basisYou own this if you have…

A bachelor’s degree in finance or a similar areaA minimum of 5+ years progressive experience in retail or a similar sectorExperience building and owning flexible, scalable reports, models and tools that support decision making in a wide range of business areasOutstanding verbal and written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to both influence leaders and peersStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to data integrityThe desire to work on a close-knit team focused on the success of the business as well as professional developmentWe’ve got you covered…

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $80,000 - $155,000

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
