PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary duties of the Water Resources Engineer are to provide project engineering and task management; design fish passage systems; conduct hydraulic and hydrologic modeling; conduct floodplain delineation studies; conduct assessments of transportation related hydraulic structures (culverts/bridges); collect, assimilate, and present data in reports, memos and public forums; lead production of design calculations and technical reports; and lead preparation of engineering plans and specifications.

Will work independently as well as plan, organize, and assist groups of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians dependent on project/task.

Will conduct water resources planning, plan formulation, concept development, and develop planning documentation.

Will assist in water resources permitting efforts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Civil preferred. MS degree highly desired.

5+ years of experience in water resources engineering projects desired.

PE license required.

Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GEO-RAS, PC-SWMM, HSPF, SRH-2D Arc GIS preferred.

Experience with 2D hydraulic modeling software preferred.

Experience with sediment transport preferred.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
