HDR is in search of a Water Resources Engineer to join our specialized Fisheries Ecohydraulics practice. In this role you will be supporting fisheries projects ranging from fish passage, water crossings, stream restoration, fish screening structures, and hatcheries. HDR has an amazing fisheries group with a long-standing history of technical excellence. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is looking to grow their knowledge, as well as excited to mentor and train junior staff. We'll count on you to:Provide project engineering and task managementCollect, assimilate, and present data in reports, memos, and public forumsConduct field assessments of streams, wetlands, and estuariesProduce design calculations and clearly document design decisions in technical reportsProduce design plans, specifications, and engineering cost estimatesWork independently in addition to planning, organizing and assisting groups of medium to large teams of professionals and techniciansConduct complex hydraulic and hydrologic modelingEvaluate sediment mobility and bridge scourDevelop habitat complexity designs, including LWM layout and details. Evaluate stability of LWM structuresConduct floodplain delineation studies in accordance with FEMA and local floodplain guidelines and regulationsRequired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Ecological, or Environmental EngineeringA minimum of 5 years of experience in water resources engineering projectsPE licensure in Washington state or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 monthsExperience with stream restoration design conceptsExperience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software HEC-HMS, WWHM, HEC-RAS1D/2D, and SRH2DExperience using WDFW Water Crossing Design Guidelines and WSDOT Hydraulics ManualExperience working with CAD and GIS softwareExcellent oral and written communication skillsSelf-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of taskAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhy HDR

The expected compensation range for this position is $69,020 - $130,399 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
