This individual will work closely with our CEO and provide tactical and strategic support in aspects of our finances, HR administration, and office operations. Candidates need to be strategic individuals with 5-7 years of managerial accounting, financial, and administration management experience in a rapidly growing environment. This role will be ever-changing and will require the candidate to be flexible and open-minded while paying close attention to detail and processes.Responsibilities
Directing all aspects of accounting operationsOverseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reportingCoordinating, preparing, and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reportsManaging payroll and other HR activitiesCoordinating corporate tax reporting and preparation of tax returnsLeading financial planning, budgeting, and reporting and creating and maintaining budgeting toolsProviding strategic guidance around capital financing options to support the startup’s growthManaging outside vendorsPreferred Skills
5 – 7 years of related experienceBachelor’s degree required; concentration in accounting or finance preferredIn-depth knowledge of corporate finance and other accounting principles, laws, and best practices including GAAPSolid experience with financial analysis and forecastingStrong knowledge of employment lawStrong knowledge of and experience with tax processes including Annual Federal Income Tax, Annual State Income Tax, 1099s, depreciation and amortization schedules, and state use and sales taxesComfort in the startup environment (i.e., sometimes chaotic and lacking structure) and able to create structure and foundational accounting processesStrong priority management skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsAbout Vorticity
