Job Title: Employment

Our client is looking for a virtual attorney to assist clients with legal issues stemming from the relationship between employers and employees. They will interpret and advise clients on wage and hour laws, workplace safety, laws regarding rest and breaks, disability and leave requirements, workplace harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination.

The Labor and Law Associate should be committed to providing education and advocacy for historically vulnerable California communities and individuals that have traditionally lacked effective and equitable access to Justice.

Essential FunctionsProvide comprehensive legal advice to clients on various labor and employment issues.Conduct legal research and factual investigation to prepare legal documents and develop strategies.Draft and prepare claims, contracts, or other documentation.Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.Collaborate with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure effective client service.Educate clients about their rights and obligations under various labor and employment laws.Adhere to the firm's processes, procedures, and practices.Keep updated with the latest legal and industry developments in labor and employment law.Work ScheduleThis position works up to a 35-hour workweek; hours are flexible and may extend earlier in the day or later in the evening as duties necessitate; this position is exempt and not eligible for overtime pay.

The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required.Willingness to listen to potential clients and educate them on their labor and employment rights.Ability to explain the law in a fashion that clients and potential clients can understand.Draft compelling correspondence and legal documents.Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.Ability to effectively manage your caseload.Ability to drive a case from lead to litigation.Self Starter - able to self-direct and work independently.Ability to work virtually.Team Player - Willingness to collaborate on strategy and best practices.Qualifications And Minimum RequirementsA Doctor of Law Degree is required.Recently Passed the California Bar ExamInterest in practicing Labor and Employment Law required.True Client Advocate is required.
