We are seeking a high-energy, self-starting, patient individual to join our team as a
Senior Revenue Accountant
with experience in the Software as a Service (SaaS) industry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Zuora and QuickBooks Online, a strong educational background in accounting, and 2-3 years of relevant professional experience. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate revenue recognition, financial compliance, and contributing to the overall success of our finance function.
What You'll Be Doing:
Revenue Recognition:Implement and oversee revenue recognition processes in compliance with industry standards and company policies.Work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze contracts and ensure accurate revenue recognition based on ASC 606 guidelines.
Revenue Reconciliation:Conduct regular reconciliations of recorded revenues to billing source (QuickBooks Online to Zuora), ensuring accuracy and completeness.Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
System Proficiency:Demonstrated experience in using financial systems, specifically Zuora and QuickBooks Online, to manage revenue accounting processes efficiently.Act as a subject matter expert in system-related tasks, providing guidance and support to the finance team.Manage the quality control of our standard accounting processes.Prepare and maintain various accounts, financial reporting, and reporting system infrastructure for smooth month close processes.Recommend, test and implement changes to future proof our standard accounting processes as we grow.
Financial Reporting:Month end close process, including but not limited to accounting for leases, closing journal entries, consolidating foreign entities, etc.Collaborate with the finance team to provide insights and recommendations for process improvements.Prepare financial documents and supports to provide to external CPAs and auditors.
Accounts Receivable (AR) Processing and Reconciliation:Oversee the processing of customer invoices and ensure timely and accurate recording of revenue.Work closely with the Billings team to monitor and resolve outstanding receivables.Reconcile AR accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.Collaborate with the AR team to address any discrepancies and resolve outstanding issues.
Lease Accounting:Assist in lease accounting activities, including the recognition, measurement, and disclosure of lease-related transactions.Ensure compliance with lease accounting standards (ASC 842).
Other Responsibilities:Bi-weekly reconciliation of payroll / benefits.Scan for, identify, report, resolve any accounting discrepancies.Support day-to-day and month-end responsibilities of the finance department.Interact with other departments to obtain needed information to properly record accrued rebates and sales discounts.Manage the quality control of our standard accounting processes.Other projects and tasks may be assigned from time to time.
