Diagnose and treat diseases and conditions of the male and female urinary tract and of the male reproductive system. The urologist focuses on the kidneys, uterus, urethra, urinary bladder, and all male reproductive organs.Essential Functions :Examine, diagnose, and treat patient conditions and disorders of the genitourinary organs and tracts. (20%)Document and review patients' histories. (15%)Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests. (15%)Use specialized equipment, such as X-rays, fluoroscopes, and catheters. (15%)Perform abdominal, pelvic, or retroperitoneal surgeries when necessary. (10%)Treat lower urinary tract dysfunctions. (5%)Prescribe and administer antibiotics, antiseptics, or compresses to treat infections or injuries. (5%)Prescribe medications for patients with erectile dysfunction, infertility, or ejaculation problems. (5%)Provide Urology consultations or referring patients to specialists. (5%)Direct nurses, residents, or other staff.
