Minimum Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the California State Bar with a clean disciplinary recordMinimum of three years of experience practicing law, with a specific focus on business litigation and/or employment defenseProven track record of drafting and responding to discovery, taking and defending depositions, and serving as first chair in civil trialsStrong knowledge of civil procedure, evidence, and substantive law in the areas of business litigation and employment defenseOutstanding research, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExceptional written and oral communication abilitiesProven ability to efficiently handle multiple cases and consistently meet deadlinesSolid organizational skills coupled with meticulous attention to detailAbility to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environmentResponsibilities

Manage complex business litigation and employment defense casesDraft and respond to discovery, conduct depositions, and serve as first chair in civil trialsCollaborate closely with the firm's principal to formulate legal strategies and ensure outstanding results for clientsConduct legal research, analysis, and case strategy developmentDraft and answer discovery requests including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissionConduct/defend depositions of fact and expert witnessesDraft and argue motions including motions for dismissal and motions in limineEngage in settlement negotiations and employ alternative dispute resolution methods as neededServe as the primary attorney in civil trials and arbitrationsOffer legal counsel to clients regarding potential risks and strategies associated with litigationTeam up with colleagues and support staff to deliver excellent legal servicesCompetitive compensation package commensurate with experience and performance, opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the firm, employer-backed retirement savings program, generous vacation and paid time off, and a supportive and collaborative work environment.
