To learn more about us, watch our introduction video.Position Overview:We are in search of an experienced and highly skilled Senior Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. In this managerial role, you will serve as the department lead, overseeing and mentoring a team of contracted attorneys and paralegals. Your leadership will be essential in driving the team to meet their targets and achieve optimal outcomes for our clients. Your proficiency in drafting and responding to discovery, conducting depositions, and first-chair civil trial experience will be crucial. You will collaborate closely with the firm's principal to formulate legal strategies, work on cases collaboratively, and deliver exceptional results. The expectation will be to bill 1,600 hours per year.This position is in person, based at our main office near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), situated at 5901 W. Century Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90045.This post is for individual applicants only.No recruiters or recruitment agencies should apply or contact us regarding this position.Key Responsibilities:Manage complex litigation cases related to business and employment defense.Oversee production from paralegals and legal cases being handled by outside contract attorneys.Oversee case assignments and ensure proper distribution of workload across the team.Conduct legal research, analysis, and develop case strategies.Draft and respond to discovery requests including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.Conduct and defend depositions of both fact and expert witnesses.Draft and argue motions, such as motions for dismissal and motions in limine.Engage in settlement negotiations and mediations.Serve as the primary attorney in civil trials and arbitrations.Provide clients with comprehensive legal guidance on the potential risks and tactical options involved in pursuing litigation.Collaborate across the team to ensure outstanding legal representation.Represent the firm in client meetings, industry conferences, and other professional events.Education and Experience:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the California State Bar with a clean disciplinary record.Minimum of seven years of litigation experience with a focus on business litigation and/or employment defense.Proven track record of drafting and responding to discovery, taking and defending depositions, and serving as the first chair in civil trials.Strong knowledge of civil procedure, evidence, and substantive law in the areas of business litigation and employment defense.Outstanding research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Exceptional written and oral communication abilities.Proven ability to efficiently handle multiple cases and consistently meet deadlines.Possesses exceptional organizational skills and a sharp eye for detail.Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably including managing a team of attorneys and legal staff.Experience in overseeing case assignments and ensuring proper workload distribution.Experience in developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures.Comfortable working alone and contributing effectively in team-based projects.Compensation and Benefits:$185,000 - $225,000 annual salaryA competitive incentive compensation package based on reaching individual and departmental goals, which can exceed $50,000 annually.Opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the firmComprehensive health insurance packageGenerous vacation and paid time offSupportive and collaborative work environmentApplication Instructions:If you are an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney seeking a rewarding opportunity within a rapidly growing law firm that values its team, please submit your resume and a cover letter highlighting your relevant experience and qualifications.
