(ASSISTANT, ASSOCIATE, FULL PROFESSOR)

The Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics at the University of Virginia invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position in Physiology or Biophysics. Applicants whose expertise spans both biophysics and physiology are particularly encouraged to apply. The Department seeks to expand its strengths in physiology, cell biology, cardiovascular, structural, membrane and chemical biology and bridge the interfaces between these fields. The new hire is expected to leverage current strengths of the department in Physiology and Biophysics to develop a strong independent, interdisciplinary research program to solve fundamental biomedical problems.

Applicants are expected to be highly collaborative and integrate well with a growing number of researchers and physician scientists in basic and clinical departments of the UVA School of Medicine. Applicants will be considered for either an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. Tenure status and rank of the position depends on qualifications. Highly competitive start-up packages will be offered.

Minimum Requirements:

Successful applicants will have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree.

Demonstrated exceptional scholarly success in their field.

Demonstration of sustained grant support is required for appointments at a mid-career or senior rank.
