About the Team

The VIZIO Data Science team is looking for a highly talented and motivated Director of Data Science to report into VIZIO's Head of Data Science. The Director will be responsible for supporting the Inscape data business and VIZIO Advertising Technology groups. We are looking for a dynamic leader to manage teams performing non-commoditized data work. The position can be held in one of several offices (San Francisco, Denver, Los Angeles, New York).

What You Will DoLead technical teams with vision and empathy.Work cross-functionally with product management, engineering, and business stakeholders.Manage teams that develop and write algorithms for use in production.Strategically investigate emerging technologies and their applications.Let the problem be the guide, sometimes the solution is a heuristic. Other times, it’s a model.Use data to evaluate the efficacy and value of product features.Organize and document complex technical projects.Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

About YouTrained researcher with a doctorate in a quantitative field or a master’s degree with a thesis.5+ years’ management experience.Fluent in Python and SQL.High sense of ownership and results driven.Technical knowledge of ad-tech and/or data licensing industries.Solid understanding of predictive analytics, mathematical modeling, and statistics (theory, algorithms, and application).Proficient with modern big data technologies and CI/CD frameworks.

The minimum salary for this position is $216,000/year. The maximum salary for this position is $280,000/year. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, as well as equity and a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.For Colorado-based employment:

The salary for this position is $216,000/year. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, as well as equity and a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.For New York-based employment:

The minimum salary for this position is $216,000/year. The maximum salary for this position is $280,000/year. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, as well as equity and a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.
