JOB DESCRIPTION:Being a member of the Information Technology business unit, the Lead Systems Engineer is primarily responsible for engineering and supporting in-memory caching and search solutions primarily on Linux as well as in the Cloud. Products used and supported in this effort include, but are not limited to, Pivotal (VMware) GemFire, Apache Solr, Redis Enterprise, and Elasticsearch.RESPONSIBILITIES:Installation and configuration of Pivotal (VMware) GemFire, Apache Solr and Zookeeper, Redis Enterprise (from RedisLabs, Inc.) and Elasticsearch (in AWS and on-premises)Work with development staff and teammates to design caching and search solutionsAssist development staff in solving application issues with respect to the use of GemFire, Solr, Redis Enterprise, and ElasticsearchProvide immediate support for production GemFire, Solr, and Redis clusters, and ElasticsearchAnalyze Java performance and capacity statistics and provide recommendations to improve performanceMaintain and author utilities and plugins in JavaMaintain and author administrative shell scriptsProvide on-call support as neededProvide support for weekend implementation and Disaster Recovery testsBuild system documentation and diagramsQUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of 5 years of related experienceBachelor's degree preferred with Masters or equivalent experienceExperience with products such as Pivotal (VMware) GemFire, Apache Solr, Redis Enterprise, and Elasticsearch.
