GDIT’s Science & Engineering group has an immediate position for a qualified candidate to provide scientific and technical support to environmental research projects and special studies for the EPA’s Great Lakes National Program Office (GLNPO). Teleworking is acceptable for this full-time position.
Provide technical expertise, data management, policy analysis and quality assurance support to environmental monitoring projects and sediment remediation projectsConduct data cleansing, processing and management, of field and analytical data collected as part of environmental projects such as long-term monitoring programs and sediment remediation projectsAssist with planning, implementation, documentation and reporting on sediment remediation and environmental monitoring with a focus on water quality and biological monitoring of freshwater ecosystems. Experience in the Great Lakes is preferred.Write and review technical reports, quality assurance project plans, sampling designs, and standard operating proceduresAssist in monthly progress reportingManage and maintain working files and deliverables according to company requirementsQualifications (Required Experience And Skills)
Bachelors and 4+ Years or Master’s degree with 5+ years of professional experience related to sediment remediation and environmental monitoringExperience in environmental monitoring and assessment, field data collection, and laboratory analysesExperience with data management, data assessment, and data verification/validationProficiency in use of ExcelExperience working with quality assurance and quality control practices in the field and/or lab; experience with data quality and program quality policy, experience in EPA quality requirements is beneficialEffective communication skills to interact with clients, business unit personnel and team membersExcellent analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skillsStrong technical writing capabilities (applicants must submit a writing sample)Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and switch between tasks quicklyWillingness to travel (less than 5% of the time)Gdit Is Your Place:

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
