Own your career as a Data Scientist at GDIT. Your work offers data science support to a team of cyber security professionals using AI/ML tools, techniques, and data modeling. Uses data collected from a variety of cyber defense tools (e.g., IDS alerts, firewalls, network traffic logs) to consult with cyber professionals on creative means of analyzing events that occur within their environments for the purposes of mitigating threats. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to build strong lines of cyber defense using cutting-edge technologies. Your work in cyber security at GDIT will have an impact on securing our clients’ missions and ensuring we anticipate the threats of tomorrow. The Data Scientist will serve as a pivotal figure within the organization. This role demands a professional with a solid grasp of data modeling, machine learning, AI and languages such as Python and SQL.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with cyber security teams to develop/employ machine learning techniques and algorithms to support cyber security, including detection of anomalous and malicious cyber activity.Lead and devise innovative methods and techniques to leverage AI/ML/Neural Networks to improve the detection of malicious activity.Qualifications:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, 5+ years of experience.
Experience in cybersecurity is a plus; needs to be able to work well with a variety of subject matter experts in cyber security.Degree in Data Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.Proficiency in machine learning algorithms.Neural networks and deep learning.Proficiency in data modeling and visualizations.Proficiency in one or more languages such as Python, R, and SQL.Familiarity with Data Science related Mathematics including statistics and probability, linear algebra, and calculus.Security Clearance:U.S. Citizenship required. Candidates must be eligible for an MBI clearance and may be required to hold an active clearance at the time of application.
Travel:Occasional travel may be required.

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
