To keep up with the ever-evolving needs in genetics, PreventionGenetics believes strongly in maintaining a modern technology stack and supporting staff in exploring and refining skills. Software Engineers work closely with our large teams of doctorate geneticists and informaticians to solve novel problems to benefit patients and their families looking for answers.Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:Contribute to the building of defined software features, investigating and fixing bugs, and writing tests related to basic software components with detailed instructions for all projects and work provided by leadership.With general instruction, drive projects of limited scope to completion, resolving routine issues and problems within defined tasks.Learn basic concepts of quality standards, policies, techniques, and best practices.Develop basic foundational theories, skills, and practices to accomplish work assignments of limited complexity.Communicate status updates on individual project-based assignments to the project team.Establish stable working internal relationships with peers, SMEs, and decision-makers.Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.Maintain regular and reliable attendance.Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Engineering; or High School Diploma/General Education Degree and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.Basic knowledge of software development and design, and relevant domain-specific skills.Understanding of object-oriented programming.RESTful web services, Relational Databases (Postgres, SQL Server), and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate, Entities Framework).Designing and developing apps that access and/or utilize cloud-based frameworks (e.g., Azure, Amazon AWS Services/SDKs, etc.).Agile development tools; including, but not limited to, JIRA, Confluence repository.Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.Preferred QualificationsNext Generation Sequencing data analysis tools and workflows.Familiarity with object-oriented languages, such as Python and/or C#.Experience with data engineering and SQL.Salary Range:$61,000.00 - $98,000.00The annual base salary shown is a national range for this position on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location.
