What you will be doing:

The Director of Information Technology is a key executive role responsible for leading the company's IT strategy, infrastructure, and technology initiatives. The Director of IT will oversee IT infrastructure, Helpdesk, Software Engineering, eCommerce Development, Business Intelligence (BI) Data Management, and the implementation of the Epicor ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and leadership experience to drive innovation and operational excellence across the IT function.

Responsibilities:

IT Infrastructure Management:

Oversee the design, implementation, and management of the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Maintain a business continuity plan for any system outages or security events.

Oversee the cybersecurity strategic vision and overall monitoring.

Helpdesk & Technical Support:

Lead the Helpdesk team to provide exceptional technical support to all employees. Implement and optimize helpdesk processes to improve response times and customer satisfaction.

Software Engineering:

Oversee the software engineering team responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing the company’s software applications. Ensure that software development practices are aligned with industry best practices and company goals.

eCommerce Development:

Oversee the development and maintenance of the company’s eCommerce platforms, ensuring a seamless and secure online customer experience. Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to integrate eCommerce with other business functions.

Business Intelligence (BI) & Data Management:

Direct the BI and data management initiatives to ensure accurate and timely data analysis and reporting. Develop strategies for data governance, data warehousing, and the effective use of analytics to drive business decisions.

ERP Implementation (Epicor):

Work as a key driver of the implementation and ongoing management of the Epicor ERP system. Ensure that the ERP system is effectively integrated with other business systems and processes, and that it meets the company's operational and financial needs.

Strategic Planning & Budgeting:

Develop and execute the IT strategy in alignment with the company’s overall business objectives. Manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective investments in technology that deliver value to the business.

Leadership & Team Development:

Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing IT team. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and professional development within the IT department.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

Manage relationships with key technology vendors and service providers. Collaborate with other department heads and executive leadership to ensure that IT initiatives support the broader business strategy.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field

CISSP is a big plus

Minimum of 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including experience in IT infrastructure management, software development, eCommerce, BI/data management, and ERP implementations (preferably Epicor)

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, cloud computing, cybersecurity, software development, and database management. Experience with ERP systems (Epicor), eCommerce platforms (Shopify), and BI tools (Power BI) is essential.

Leadership Skills:

Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams. Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Experience with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.

Knowledge of current trends and best practices in IT infrastructure, software development, and data management.

Experience with industry standard security frameworks.
