Your Impact

As Senior EMEA Labor & Employment Counsel for Axon, you will partner closely with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, and People Leaders across the People team to assess existing policies, programs, processes and practices, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and drive innovative solutions to enhance the employee experience while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations across the EMEA region. You will also partner with Legal and People Leaders to conduct internal employee-related investigations and lead employment claims and litigation.

What You’ll Do

Location: United States, East Coast preferred

Reports to: Senior Labor and Employment Counsel

Provide advice and strategic support to People Operations and business leaders across the company on a range of employment law issues across both existing and new EMEA markets, as well as other international markets on an as-needed basis.Advise People Operations and business leaders on the full range of employment matters across the EMEA region, including recruiting, hiring, training, performance management, employee relations issues, terminations, collective bargaining agreements (CBA), labor relations and Works Councils, compensation, benefits, leaves of absence, accommodations, diversity and inclusion programs and other employment-related matters.Evaluate employment policies, programs, processes, and practices to assess and execute priorities, to conduct audits and to help ensure compliance in the EMEA region.Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of EMEA employment-related agreements, templates and other documents, including employment contracts, restrictive covenant agreements, severance agreements, and performance management documentation.Assist in developing and conducting training and education programs for employees, managers, and the People team.Assist with due diligence, negotiation of employment-related agreements and integration in connection with mergers and acquisitions in EMEA.Investigate and respond to claims, demand letters, administrative complaints, whistleblowing, audits, and other employment-related inquiries, and lead any related litigation, mediations and/or settlements of employment-related disputes.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage cross-functional projects with a team-oriented approach to mitigate employment law risk related to Axon’s business and proactively find solutions to those issues.Coordinate with and manage outside counsel in EMEA on employment matters to convert outside counsel feedback into actionable internal advice and guidance.

What You Bring

Law degree from a reputable law school and registered as an attorney.7+ years of experience in international employment/labor law and the ability to apply knowledge pragmatically.Experience in developing compliance programs and training, negotiating contracts, and conducting internal investigations.Excellent business judgment and communication skills, including the ability to proactively analyze risks and provide business-minded advice and recommendations to thoughtfully drive Axon’s continued success and growth.Hands-on experience partnering with and advising HR personnel and other key stakeholders at international organizations on a broad range of employment matters.Fluent in written and spoken English; fluency in another European language (with ability to draft and review contracts) is a plus.Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.Passion to work hard in a fast-paced environment.Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 128,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 192,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
