We are looking for an Executive Chef 2 to join our Foods team at our brand new Commissary Kitchen in Santa Clara, CA. This working Executive Chef will lead the team in high volume production of various menu items to be delivered to our clients in the Bay Area. The right candidate will be experienced with food handling and food safety, quality control, menu planning, large volume cooking, and commissary kitchen experience is a plus. Supervising experience is a must, along with computer skills using a recipe database, working under pressure and deadlines, and being a team player.
The ideal candidate will:
Implement and coordinate the culinary function.
Direct and train cooks and utility workers.
Ensure food preparation and production meets operational standards.
Focus on customer and client satisfaction.
Have an understanding of food cost and labor management.
Manage food and physical safety programs.
Possess professional verbal and written communication skills for interactions with clients.
Exhibit excellent time management skills.
Uphold Sodexo’s safety standards.
Responsibilities:
Provide culinary leadership within a medium-sized unit including menu planning, program execution, and staff management and training. Work directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.
Key Duties:
Implement and coordinate the culinary function.
Direct and train cooks and utility workers.
Ensure food preparation and production meets operational standards.
Manage catering and retail areas.
Focus on customer and client satisfaction.
Financial management to include food cost and labor management.
Manage food and physical safety programs.
Qualifications:
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
Basic Management Experience - 2 years.
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
