As a Principal Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing cloud-scale web services in Java or Kotlin that power our mobile and web clients as part of an agile team that delivers on shared commitments. The technologies we use include Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Git, JUnit, Gradle, Mockito, Redis, RabbitMQ, Public and Private Clouds, microservices, and function-as-a-service. You will collaborate with workmates on your team and in other teams across Workday to design, develop and deploy end-to-end solutions. We design and engineer our services to run reliably at cloud-scale and support our work in production via an on-call support rotation. This hybrid role is 50% office-based, and we support work-life balance and flexible working arrangements.About You

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of experience developing enterprise web applications or services in Java and SpringOther Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields, or equivalent experienceExperience delivering back-end services in microservice or event-driven architecturesSome frontend experience desirable, developing cross-platform web applicationsExcited and passionate to learn new technologies and skillsTenacious and logical problem solverExperience in cloud native architecture (Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Helm) and AWS technologies is a plusExcellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across the organizationDemonstrated ability to provide technical leadership on complex projects and mentor and guide team membersLike us, you are passionate about software development and have a lot of fun solving interesting problemsWorkday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
