ARTISAN Management Group is seeking an experienced multifamily executive to lead our growing team of diverse, dedicated and hard-working professionals. This is an on-site position, reporting out of Artisan Management Group’s office in Des Moines. The Vice President of Operations is responsible for all phases of property management including property operations occupancy, financial planning, budgeting, strategic market positioning, property marketing, and successful integration of new acquisitions as well as the oversight of the Regional Manager Team. The primary focus of this position is to maximize the potential of our growing real estate portfolio. In this exciting hands-on role, you will not only develop strategy but also be a coach and mentor to the AMG team. The position directly manages four Regional Managers who have Community Managers and/or Area Managers reporting to them. The right candidate must be flexible and adaptive to the ever-changing market and aligned with our company goals.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Oversee financial plans for each region and ensure profitability with a focus on revenue growth generation versus expense control.
Mentor and develop all regional managers while empowering the team to perform more autonomously.
Identify and communicate achievable goals and barriers to success with recommended solution options.
Maintain awareness of individual markets to stay abreast of trends in leasing, staffing, product conditions, supply, and customer traffic influencers.
Be a leader by example. Foster and model excellent communication, collaboration, flexibility, and a productive team environment in our communities and with corporate team members.
Maintain up-to-date awareness of industry compliance, code, and legal issues.
Evaluate employee engagement and performance.
Assess the evolving needs of the organization.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS FOR VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS
Experience in commercial/investment real estate required.
Experience in multifamily sector strongly preferred.
Degree in business administration, or related field from an accredited institution.
Demonstrated experience in leading teams of 50+ persons for 3 or more years.
Must have organizational, administrative and leadership abilities.
Effectively communicates with all levels of the organization.
Effectively meets deadlines.
Possesses exceptional oral, writing and listening skills.
Possesses a high level of attention to detail with strong accuracy.
Ability to work independently as well as with others.
Possesses strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation.
Confidence in managing diversity with team members, product types, and markets.
Experience in walking communities and identifying improvement opportunities.
Solution based problem-solving techniques.
Experience overseeing financial plan development, forecasting, and delivery.
A successful history of implementing company-driven programs and initiatives.
Ability to collaborate and work well in a team environment.
Ability to flex and adapt to a changing environment.
A track record for meeting goals and exceeding targets.
AppFolio or similar property management software experience preferred.
Computer proficiency, including MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Travel – up to 20% or as needed
Regular in-person office hours
Reports To: ARTISAN Management Group Partners
Compensation: $95,000 to $125,000
