Job Purpose

The Staff Accountant is responsible for completing month-end closing procedures for assigned areas including but not limited to journal entries, reconciliations, and ad hoc analysis in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will use a variety of skills including a thorough knowledge of accounting, budgets, variance analysis, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, fixed assets and depreciation, accruals, and long-term debt as well be well organized, detail oriented, and have effective communication skills.

Base Salary

$60K to $70K

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare bank reconciliations and record daily banking transactions to the general ledger.Record merchant accounts receivable transactions and record transaction fees.Post month end journal entries to the general ledger and prepare monthly reconciliations to meet month-end close deadlines.Responsible for month end marketing prepaid expenses and accruals.Record fixed asset additions, prepare a fixed asset roll-forward, and record monthly depreciation expense.Invoice related party accounts receivable and ensure collection.Assist with ad-hoc analysis during month end and other projects as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

Excellent with Excel, Microsoft Office software, Word, PowerPoint.Experience with QuickBooks.Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will be required to communicate with customers, coworkers, and managers of all levels.Organized, can successfully handle, plan, and schedule tasks.Ability to meet deadlines.Ability to solve problems and use strong analytical skills.Willingness to learn and grow with the company.Strong organization skills and ability to multitask.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
