Role Overview
We are looking for a go-getter person who can define:Analytic strategies to meet the demands of business requirementsTechnical requirements of the analytic solutionsData requirements of the analytic solution processesThe person will be part of the Data Engineering team for a major Insurance client. He/She will work with different stakeholders as SME for data engineering.Responsibilities include:Acquire data from primary or secondary sources, implement data collection systems and maintain databases.Identify, develop and implement reporting and analytic tools.Develop dashboards for visual representation of performance using visual reporting tools.Engage in technical problem solving across multiple technologies; often needs to develop new solutions.A typical workday will involve working with stakeholders in an individual contributor capacity.A suitable candidate should have 4-7 years of experience in a similar role and should possess a go-getter attitude. He/She should be able to deal with ambiguity.Key Responsibilities & Skillsets
Experience in property and casualty insurance/actuarial projects preferred.Common Skillsets
4+ years of experience in analytics ETL and associated data engineering jobs.Experience with Google Cloud Platform services.Excellent communication & presentation skills.Experience in managing SQL codes and collaborating with customers on model evolution.Good knowledge of SQL, Big Query and GCP; data modeling experience is a plus.Should be able to work independently on problems and prepare client-ready deliverables with minimal or no supervision.Good communication skills for client interaction.Data Management Skillsets
Ability to understand data models and identify ETL optimization opportunities. Exposure to ETL tools is preferred.Strong grasp of advanced SQL functionalities (joins, nested queries, and procedures).Strong ability to translate functional specifications/requirements to technical requirements.Candidate Profile
Bachelor's/Master's degree in economics, mathematics, actuarial sciences, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from top-tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply.Strong and in-depth understanding of DE Fundamentals.Data analysis experience.Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.Able to work in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment and ready to take up uphill challenges.
