Accountant

Baltimore, MDMust:3+ years of experience as a Senior Accountant; public accounting preferred.Advanced knowledge of US GAAP principles and practices, general ledger, and accrual accounting.Senior knowledge and understanding of balance sheet reconciliations with the ability to perform detailed analysis.Advanced knowledge of federal and state laws, rules, and regulations that govern payroll and benefits.Proficient skill in the use of Google Suite, as well as Microsoft Office.Experience working with QuickBooks and ADP.Advanced verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Duties:

Oversight of cash and treasury operations and perform daily monitoring, as well as weekly cash reconciliations in QuickBooks.Regular review of accounts payable mailbox and coordination of vendor payments and weekly check-runs.Collaborate with HR and business leads to gather necessary information.Reconcile benefits-related journal entries, including health insurance and retirement plans.Coordination of the revenue process, including generating, processing, and reconciling customer invoices and payment receipts.Ensure timely and accurate recording of payroll general ledger activity.Record and reconcile payroll-related journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting policies and procedures.Perform balance sheet reconciliations and analysis related to payroll and benefits accounts.Assist with accounting month-end close of books on the US GAAP accrual basis.Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.Work closely with the benefits broker and HR team to obtain necessary data and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to the benefits general ledger.Coordinate with external service providers, such as tax and audit firms.Assist with internal and external audits; provide necessary documentation and explanations.Ensure compliance with applicable accounting policies, procedures, and regulations that govern payroll and benefits.Complete Vendor Applications and work with a third-party service provider to ensure that the company is in good standing with all customer's business compliance requests.Progression, Inc. is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
