Essential Functions:
Develop network data science for the Glioblastoma moonshot program.With direction, develops and maintains software tools and infrastructure for resolving specific problems. Adapt to new technologies and find solutions to related academic programs.Collaboratively works with wet lab members to develop procedures and analytical frameworks.Reads literature, confers with superiors regarding new procedures, and modifies them according to the project's needs.Ability to search and review the scientific literature to develop computational pipelines and support the completion of grant applications.Flexibility to assist with closely related projects pursued by other labs in the Neurosurgery department.Demonstrates extensive knowledge and familiarity with UNIX-like computing environments and high-performance computing resources.Proficiently use Python and R to develop extensible, well-documented, and user-friendly workflows (Snakemake and others) for analysis of data generated by laboratory members.Provides supervision and special training to technical personnel and/or highly technical work in medical and related research projects.Contributes to the project team.Employ safe laboratory practices.Maintain research records and laboratory notes.Interacts closely with other research staff across institutional functional teams.Other duties as assigned.
EducationRequired : Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Computational Biology, or related field.
ExperienceRequired : Three years experience in scientific software development/analysis. With Master's degree, one year experience required. With PhD, no experience required.
